Prof. Ben Emikpe
Emikpe Benjamin Obukowho was promoted Professor of diagnostic and toxicological pathology in 2014 as a High flyer in University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Former Chair, Department of Veterinary Pathology, University of Ibadan, Nigeria, Professor of Avian pathology and vaccinology, Pan African University of Life and Earth science, Ibadan, Nigeria. Presently, Dean, School of Veterinary Medicine, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, (KNUST) Kumasi, Ghana.
His research has been on diagnosis of endemic, emerging and zoonotic diseases affecting livestock, zoo and threatened wildlife. His interest is on pulmonology with intranasal vaccination approaches to control of major pneumonia in domestic animal and the use of phytogenic delivery of Newcastle disease and Infectious bursal disease vaccines in poultry. He has graduated 18 doctoral students in the diagnosis of endemic and emerging disease, use of vaccine delivery, probiotics and phytobiotics to control caprine, swine, fish and wildlife diseases. Currently, supervising 13 other doctoral students, in wildlife ecotoxicology, use of intranasal probiotics, novel vaccination delivery for PPR, a pneumonic disease of goats in the tropics; respiratory diseases in chicken, major diseases of fish and dogs. I have published extensively and had been plenary speaker in international conferences and workshops on livestock and wildlife disease diagnosis.
